Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is the practice of  protecting computer systems, applications, devices, networks, and data from digital attacks aimed at destroying sensitive information. Effective cybersecurity involves multiple layers of protection such as user education, firewalls, and anti-virus software. Cyber threats require continuous monitoring and adaptation of security measures to safeguard against data breaches, identity theft, and other risks. With the impact that technology has in our daily lives, cybersecurity is very important and necessary.                                                                                                                              I will take you through the types of cybersecurity, importance of cybersecurity, challenges that cybersecurity face and how to overcome them.

Types of Cybersecurity

Network security: Protect networks from unauthorized access and attacks using firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and secure protocols.

Application security: Focuses on protecting applications through coding practices, vulnerability assessments and patch management.

Information security: This ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability through encryption, access controls, and regular backups.

Cloud security: It addresses security measures for data stored in cloud environments, including identity management and data protection strategies.

Internet of Things security: It protects interconnected devices from unauthorized access as the number of IoT devices increases.

Identity and Access Management: Prevents unauthorized access to organization's identities and controls access to the resources.
